Our Commitment
Cornerstone Presbyterian Church welcomes everyone, and we want our website to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, voice control, screen magnifiers, or other assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
What We Have Done
- Pages use a consistent structure with headings in order, so screen reader users can move through them.
- A “Skip to content” link appears at the top of every page for keyboard users.
- The main menu works with a keyboard and on small screens, and the menu button reports whether it is open or closed.
- Text and buttons use color combinations that meet the WCAG AA contrast ratio.
- Photos have text descriptions, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- The page language is set, and the layout adapts to phones, tablets, and desktop screens.
- An accessibility toolbar from ADA Web Work is available on every page. It lets visitors adjust text size, spacing, contrast, and other display settings.
Known Limitations
We are still working on a few areas:
- Contact form. The form on our contact page is provided by Tally, a third-party service. We do not control every part of it. If you have trouble, please call the church office at 334-872-3449 and we will be glad to help.
- Maps, videos, and links to other sites. The map on our Service Times page, our Facebook Live worship services, our YouTube channel, our online giving page, and the RightNow Media library are provided by other companies. Their accessibility is outside our control.
- Older content. Our history page is long, and some of its text was written long before this website existed. We are reviewing it for clearer formatting.
Tell Us About a Barrier
